I QUIT MY JOB!!!!!!!!! 3 years ago today I saved the ResumeOfficial user name on socials, with no idea what could possibly come next 🥹 And today that exact decision is coming full circle, and I’m taking that business full time!!!! When I received a return to office mandate on April 23rd, my first thought was “finally.”. Because I knew that it was a final SHOVE from the universe, telling me to get over the fear of betting on myself, and just do it. And let me be clear – I’m angry about my return to office mandate. My choice on how I work was taken from me and thousands of others for no reason, leaving so many people stranded. I can not understate how powerful I felt when I realized that for once, I had the financial ability to disagree with an organization and walk away. I did not need them, I chose to be there. Because if there’s one thing a company can do that I disagree with? It’s a return to office mandate. So here’s to new beginnings, and an even stronger promise. We are not going back. I quit my job because of a return to office mandate. If you’ve been here awhile, you know I’ve been a huge advocate for remote work and I will never be going back to an office. So… now what? I take my business full time! Did I feel ready? No! Do I think I ever would have felt ready? … also no. With remote work disappearing, we need to be more specific with the job boards we choose! I find that LinkedIn and Indeed tend to have more jobs that are listed as “remote”, but then actually have an in office requirement.
